A two-day creative workshop dedicated to upcycling, sewing and experimental fashion.

Join designer Xenia Rommel, founder of ROMMEL BERLIN @rommel.berlin for a hands-on weekend where you’ll learn how to transform clothing and create new pieces from scratch.

Xenia’s work focuses on reconstruction, upcycling and experimental design. In 2024 and 2025, she participated in and organized fashion projects as part of Berlin Fashion week, presenting her own runway show.

This workshop is a chance to step into her creative process and experiment with your own pieces.

Part 1.

UPCYCLING WORKSHOP : DENIM

Have old jeans or denim pieces you don’t wear anymore?

Bring them to the studio and turn them into something new.

Together we will experiment with upcycling techniques and redesign your pieces while learning practical skills you can continue using at home.

You’ll learn how to:

• bleach and dye denim

• add metal details and hardware

• reconstruct and redesign garments

• customize pieces with different textures and finishes

Bring jeans, jackets, shirts or any denim items you’d like to transform.

Part 2.

MAKE YOUR OWN : BELT SKIRT

On the second day we will create a lingerie-inspired belt skirt from scratch.

All materials will be provided.

During this session you’ll learn:

• how to take measurements

• the basics of pattern making

• how to transfer patterns to fabric

• how to work with lace and delicate fabrics

• sewing on a machine and by hand

By the end of the workshop you will leave with your own handmade belt skirt.

Who is this workshop for?

This event is open to everyone, beginners and people with sewing experience.

If you are curious about fashion, upcycling or simply want to spend a day creating something with your hands and meeting creative people, you’re welcome.

Expect a small, relaxed studio atmosphere focused on experimentation and creativity.

The workshop lasts 3 hours, we recommend using one idea per day.
