About this Event
is a Chicago 501(c)(3) nonprofit that diverts packaging materials and donates them back to the community. We host workshops and community events to build relationships and encourage hyper-local initiatives.
Details: Come sew with us at our EcoShip pop up shop! This is an open workshop environment. Want to sew some simple projects out of upcycled materials? Come join us and learn how to sew some easy (unpaper towels, reusable makeup remover pads) or intermediate sustainable projects (produce bags, scrunchie)! Already an experienced sewist? You can meet others who combine a love of sewing with a love of sustainability. Have a simple clothing repair? We can help with that, too!
We'll provide the tools you need, as well as some fabric to upcycle. If you want to bring your own fabric to work with, please do! We recommend bringing old T shirts and old cotton material (like an old bedsheet or dress shirt) because it's easy to cut and sew.
Arrival/Parking: There is free street parking on Damen - north of Chicago, as well as on Wolcott Ave. There is paid street parking on Chicago Ave. We are also located right off of Damen and Chicago if you are taking public transit.
*This event is 18+.
**If you can no longer make it, please go ahead and cancel your ticket so that others can join. Thank you!
