To our Coop Family!I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for support from those who understand this pain all too well.
The two primary defendants in my son Cooper’s federal court case have pled guilty, and their sentencing hearings will be held in federal court in downtown Los Angeles. These hearings are one of the few moments where families are allowed to stand before a judge and speak directly about how the loss of our loved ones has forever changed our lives.
The sentencing dates are:
• March 16 at 1:30 p.m.
• March 30 at 1:30 p.m. (this date is especially important to our family)
One defendant is the individual Cooper trusted and obtained what he believed was a legitimate prescription pill from. That pill was fentanyl and took his life. The second defendant was the supplier of counterfeit fentanyl pills and has admitted to knowingly selling them. His actions have impacted multiple families, including the death of another young woman and many others who were harmed by this same poison.
At these hearings, my family will read our victim impact statements. This is where our voices are officially heard and entered into the court record. Having others present—especially those who have also lost children and loved ones to fentanyl—means more than I can express. Your presence reminds the court that these are not isolated tragedies, but part of a devastating and ongoing crisis.
There is absolutely no obligation, and we understand travel, work, and emotional limits. But if you are able to stand with us in person on either of these days, please know how deeply grateful we would be.
Thank you for the love, strength, and solidarity this community continues to show one another.
Love Your More!❤️🩹🙏🏼🦋
