Hey Neighbours! Esquimalt Mutual Aid would like to invite you to our neighbourhood swap and shop! May 30th, from 1pm-3pm at 482 Nelson St 🥳
Everyone has extra stuff lying around...
Whether it be a book collection you don't read, a weird statue you've carried around for 15 years, or way too many baskets for some reason.. 🤔
Most of us just chuck things into bags and donate to a big store like value village. But WHAT IF, instead, we all get together and give our weird and wacky (or practical and awesome) things to our neighbours?!
We'd be helping each other, spending time meeting our community AND maybe finding cool treasures! Its a win, win, win.
We will even have some cold drinks and snacks on hand like last time 🥰
Here's how to participate:
🌟 We accept anything EXCEPT CLOTHES.
🌟 Things should be in good, useable condition (no broken appliances, chipped plates etc - use your very best discretion)
🌟 Bring your things for 1pm or as you arrive. When you arrive you will get 1 ticket for each thing or group or set of things you bring (a set of dishes is 1 ticket, for example. 1 statue = 1 ticket). You can swap 1 ticket for 1 thing. For example, 5 tickets = 5 things.
🌟 If you don't find anything you can leave your things or take them back with you.
🌟 However, you have to feel comfortable with whatever you bring possibly being chosen (and therefore not reclaimable if you *don't* find something you like)
🌟 Anything left over will be donated to a local thrift store, or organization.
🌟 Everyone welcome, including kids!
EMA will be hosting a swap every month over the Summer! So make sure you follow us to get notified for each one!
