As the season of workshops comes to a close, Communal Pen authors gather, reflect, and celebrate the stories we’ve created together. This special session invites Communal Pen participants to share their work in a supportive and welcoming space. It’s an opportunity to look back on the themes we’ve explored, the memories we’ve preserved, and the voices we’ve uplifted throughout the year.
Attendees can join the celebration in person at the Spearman Center or stream the event online.
Through shared readings and conversation, Community Reading highlights the collective spirit at the heart of Communal Pen. Writers of all levels are encouraged to bring a piece they’ve developed in a workshop or on their own, adding to a chorus of perspectives that reflect the richness of South Carolina’s communities. This gathering serves as both a reflection on the season past and an inspiration for the stories yet to come.
