Blending hypnotic beats, punk energy and swirling synths, screensaver channel themes of power, control and systemic failure into a dark yet danceable strain of maximalist post-punk, drawing from krautrock and new wave.Formed in 2016 as a trans-Pacific project between Christopher Stephenson (Spray Paint, Exek) and Krystal Maynard (Bad Vision, Polo, Swim Team), the band later settled in Melbourne with a full lineup including members of Personal Touch and Rat Columns.
Their debut album Expressions of Interest (2021, Upset the Rhythm / Heavy Machinery) established their sound and received strong international support (KEXP, Maximum Rock'n'Roll, Clash). Follow-up Decent Shapes (2023, Poison City / Upset the Rhythm) continued that trajectory, earning praise from NME, Rolling Stone Australia and Brooklyn Vegan, with the single "The Guilt" reaching the AMRAP Top 10.
