Tuesday, February 10th, Spike Lee (born in Grady Hospital) returns to his birthplace, Atlanta, GA, where he filmed his classic 1988 Musical-Comedy School Daze for a special screening celebrating its 38th anniversary at the iconic Fox Theatre.The evening also honors Spike Lee's deep generational ties to Atlanta's HBCU legacy. Spike is a third-generation Morehouse man, following in the footsteps of his father, Bill Lee (Class of 1951), and his grandfather, Richard Jackson Shelton (Class of 1926). His mother and grandmother are proud Spelman College graduates - Jacqueline Shelton (Class of 1954) and Zimmie Shelton (Class of 1929).
