University of Birmingham Quiz Society is delighted to announce it is hosting its first ever Quizbowl tournament. This will be the UK mirror of Scarlet Houseknight, held at the Murray Learning Centre on Saturday 8th November 2025.THE TOURNAMENT
Scarlet Houseknight is a closed (student-only) tournament of intermediate or 1.5 dot difficulty (between ACF Fall and ACF Winter) with “predominately novice-friendly answer lines”. The subject distribution and further details about the set can be found here: https://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28837.
Questions will not be Briticised.
As this is a 1.5 dot tournament, UKQB will be applying eligibility restrictions. Decisions will be based on a range of factors with players’ previous tournament performance considered holistically to ensure this tournament remains as accessible as possible to a wide range of players. Teams are therefore requested to submit their rosters in good time, so that the UKQB Tournament Subcommittee can make eligibility decisions, and to put forward only players they believe are of an appropriate experience level for a tournament of this difficulty. The decision of the UKQB Tournament Supervisor on player eligibility will be final.
