Session Layout
The Venue
Arrive at Hot Box Sauna in Carlingford Marina, park up carefully along the road or in the marina car park 3 mins away. The venue is right on the shores of the Lough, with stunning views of the Mournes to the North, and the looming mass of Slieve Foye overhead just to the South. This is yet another breath taking destination that the east coast of Ireland has to offer.
Getting Started
After checking the place out and meeting your new paddle board pals for the day, we'll give you a top quality wetsuit to change into - please arrive in swimmers under your clothes to speed up changing, and also bring a changing robe as we can't guarantee access to hotbox for chaning before our session. We'll also take registration forms off you at this stage.
After all that, we get straight to your SUP Experience giving you a top end board, and after a quick safety brief head straight out onto the sheltered waters of Carlingford Marina
During The Session
On the water, we'll guide you along the rugged coastline towards the Mournes which are always in the skyline in front of us. People can opt to stay dry and chill, or if you have plety of energy to expend after sitting at work all day we can offer plenty of fun challenges and games for you to take part in - the choice is yours!
Nature & Wildlife To See
Weather permitting, we can go out into the centre of the lough, where you will likely see Arctic Terns, Oyster Catchers and even Brent Geese depending on the time of year. This place a proper haven for wildlife, and a brilliant place to spend your chill out time on the water.
Off The Water
Once back on shore, you'll take off your wetsuit and head straight to the Sauna, where you'll have two options - Sauna first or cold dip in the sea first. We love to get cold first and then warm up, but this totally up to you! After your sauna session of hot and cold cycles, we'll get changed and finish with a wee hot drink before heading home relaxed and rejuvinated, and ready for the week ahead.
