About this Event
Saturday talks:
10:30-11:00: Detoxify Your Mind and Body - Hot and Cold Therapies
Join author and wellbeing journalist, , cold-water swim coach and author and Urban Heat’s founder, Aarthi Paul, for a conversation exploring the simultaneous rise of sauna culture and cold water swimming as a route to detox both mind and body that offers deeper connection to self and an anecdote to modern living. From nervous system regulation and resilience building, to ritual, nature connection and community, the panel will unpack why the benefits of these hot and cold practices are resonating so deeply in today’s overstimulated world and how they live beyond ‘just another' wellness trend.
11:30-12:00: Why I Started a Toxic-Free Brand
The fitness sector has become synonymous with performance led clothing that moves with our bodies and provides a whole raft of benefits, from sweat wicking, temperature regulation to waterproofness. Yet this creates a wellness paradox: many people pursuing health and fitness are unaware of the synthetic materials and chemical treatments that make these garments perform, and the impact those choices may have on our bodies and the environment. This panel explores why that matters, bringing together founders who are challenging the status quo and asking what really goes into the clothes we wear closest to our skin. Moderated by Lucy Johnson, founder of , the conversation with Demi Anderson of and Irina Kuznetsova of will then explore the personal experiences, market gaps and health concerns that led them to start their brands. For anyone interested in conscious brands, material innovation and the future of health-first product design.
12:30-13:00: Lactofermentation 101 with Kenji Morimoto
Join Kenji Morimoto for a relaxed conversation and live sauerkraut-making demonstration exploring the ancient practice of fermentation through the lens of flavour. Discover how our ancestors relied on fermentation to preserve food for survival, and why this age-old process still matters today - from gut health to taking greater agency over what we feed our bodies.
14:00-14:30: Infertile Film Trailer and Q&A
This panel discussion explores the themes raised in the feature documentary Infertile — a film that looks at how endocrine-disrupting chemicals are related to the growing global fertility crisis, and the wider implications for public health, regulation and modern life. Featuring director Ed Scott-Clarke alongside Professor Richard Lea, fertility advocate Jonathan Luwagga, and Dr Suman Rice, the conversation aims to unpack the science, challenge assumptions and open up a broader public dialogue around one of the defining health issues of our time.
