About this Event
This virtual SAT workshop focuses on interpreting, organizing, and solving SAT-style distance word problems using structured setup strategies and equation building.
Students will learn how to break down difficult SAT wording, organize information using distance-rate-time tables, and confidently approach multi-step problems involving travel, speed, time, and changing relationships.
Students will practice:
- using the distance formula ((d = rt))
- building and organizing distance-rate-time charts
- translating SAT wording into equations
- solving same direction/catch-up problems
- solving opposite direction problems
- working through round-trip scenarios
- organizing split distance and split time setups
- identifying variables and hidden relationships
- approaching multi-step SAT word problems strategically
This workshop emphasizes interpretation and setup first — helping students feel more confident beginning difficult SAT math questions that often feel confusing or overwhelming.
