About this Event
Sashiko Stitching Workshop
Come learn sashiko at Bella Vita! Sashiko is a form of Japanese clothing repair that's both beautiful and functional. These small, strong stitches can add years to the life of a garment and can be applied in all manner of dynamic, eye catching patterns. In this two hour class, students will learn the fundamentals of sashiko and - hopefully ! - leave feeling prepared and inspired to deploy what they've learned throughout their wardrobe. All supplies will be provided and can be taken home at the end of class. This class is suitable for attendees ages fifteen and older, and for children age 10 through 14 who are eager to learn alongside a paying accompanying adult :)
About the instructor: Cirrus Wood is a self-taught artisan who runs his own mending and tailoring business Dollars & Yen which came about after years of casually combining elements of both Japanese and American style repair techniques in his own wardrobe.
