Explore Highland Creek and discover the adventures of salmon and their incredible journey at this fun, family-friendly nature walk! Learn all about salmon life cycle, migration, and ongoing restoration efforts, on this guided nature walk as we search for salmon swimming upstream during the fall salmon run!
Event Details
Date and Time: Saturday, October 11th. Choose from one of two timeslots: 10:00am to 11:30am or 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
Location: Morningside Park. Please meet your leader at the park pavilion located here.
Parking/Transit Info: There are multiple free parking lots available at Morningside Park. When driving into the park, it is recommended that event participants park in one of the first two lots, as they are closest to the meeting location. For participants taking public transportation, please note that the closest bus stop is serviced by the 116 Morningside bus from Kennedy Station and the 12 Kingston bus from Victoria Park Station. The bus stop is approximately a 7-minute walk to the event starting location.
Cancellation Policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorm or other hazardous weather. Registrations will be emailed by 8:00am on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
Be Prepared
- Please dress appropriately for the weather. Don't forget a hat and sunscreen!
- Comfortable, close-toed shoes for the short walk are highly recommended.
- Public bathrooms are limited on site. Please come prepared.
- Bring a personal water bottle and snacks, if needed.
