About this Event
In 2026, Salford reaches a remarkable milestone: 100 years as a city.
Untold History has curated the Salford Crescent Centenary Trail – a walking trail and digital resource that brings together untold, overlooked and significant stories from across the Crescent area.
Commissioned by Crescent Culture Collective, the project has welcomed submissions from researchers, historians, community groups, students and local residents. Together, they have painted a fascinating picture of the past century.
On this interactive walking tour Mike from Talk About it Mate will bring these stories to life, facilitating the walk and helping you learn about the fascinating history of the Crescent alongside some lighthearted reflection and conversation.
The meeting point will be clearly visable at the steps of Salford Museum and Art Gallery. At the end of the tour, head to the Old Fire Station Bakery to enjoy some of Salford's finest sweet treats over a coffee.
Proceeds from this event will go to Salford Pride, contributors to the trail and organisers of The Pink Picnic. Their mission is to work to build a stronger, diverse community that celebrates inclusion and equality; where LGBTQ+ people are represented, thrive and live authentically, in Salford and beyond. Registered Charity Number: 1187448.
