About this Event
Welcome to the next Salford Creative Mixer. This month we’re taking over Hot Bed Press for a special edition that also marks the official launch of the Makers District identity.
The Makers District is the “beating heart of the cultural ecosystem” in Salford. This mixed-use neighbourhood sits between the Crescent’s cultural gateway and the commercial district, with a distinctly creative, independent, grassroots, and industrious feel. It is home to a large and diverse community of artists, makers, promoters and producers.
Join us for an informal evening of creativity and connection inside this inspiring studio space. Whether you’re an artist, designer, maker, freelancer, producer, student, or simply curious about Salford’s creative scene, this is your chance to meet like-minded people, build meaningful relationships and discover new opportunities.
This full take-over of Hot Bed Press will include have-a-go sessions at screenprinting, stamping, stencilling, letterpress and lots more. It will be jam packed with activities for everyone to try their hands at engaging with the ideas around the new visual identity developed for the Makers District developed by designer Hazel Roberts working to create a visual identity that reflects the DIY and independent ethos of the district. Once finalised, everyone in the Makers District will be invited to adopt the identity for use across social media, events, and branding to celebrate and support the visibility and recognition of local creatives.
