This classical performance brings different aspects of Sakhya and the celebration of the same through exclusive choreographies of the artist's Gurus Padmabushan Sri V. P. Dhananjayan and Padmabushan Smt. Shanta Dhananjayan to the Berlin audience.
Uttiya Barua, a Bharatanatyam performer, choreographer, and teacher. Alumnus and faculty of Bharatakalanjali, the institution of Padma Bhushans Natyacharyas Shri V. P. Dhananjayan and Smt. Shanta Dhananjayan, recipient of the Senior Fellowship from the CCRT, Government of India, graded artist of Kolkata Doordarshan, and founder of ‘Nritya Tarangini’ an institution for Bharatanatyam, in Kalna (West Bengal) and Chennai.
Shebana Devi Mangold, a classical Indian dance artist based in Berlin, Germany. Alumna of Bharatakalanjali and the founder of Nātya Berlin, one of Europe’s leading centres for Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi.
Known for her uncompromising commitment to tradition and artistic excellence, Shebana has become an ambassador of classical Indian dance, revealing its relevance as a universal language in today’s world - bringing audiences together and bridging cultures.
