About this Event
THIS CONCERT WAS POSTPONED FROM SUNDAY, MARCH 15 TO SUNDAY, MARCH 22.
Immerse yourself in the sublime beauty of otherworldly choral music in the soaring elegance of Holy Cross Catholic Church. In the midst of Lent, you’ll savor mystical chant by Hildegard von Bingen and Miserere by Gregorio Allegri that prayerfully petition for forgiveness of our sins. From the Baltics, Estonian composer Kreek offers folk-inspired Psalms of David as prayers for peace, and we sing of the sacred feast in O Sacrum Convivium by Miskinis of Lithuania.
Deepening the moment, you’ll hear lush and chromatic music of Henryk Gorecki of Poland, the melodic Os Justi by Anton Bruckner, and humble My Song in the Night by Paul Christiansen that implores “come to us with Thy Tender Love, my soul’s delight.” Rosephanye Powell’s The Word Was God and Anthony Trecek-King’s arrangement of the spiritual I’m Building Me a Home complete a divine moment for reflection and renewal.
