About the Director:

Ruslan is a Ukrainian director, author, and founder of the Children Search Service, a project that helps locate Ukrainian children unlawfully deported to russia. After losing an eye, he was unable to serve in the armed forces and instead dedicated his work to helping civilians affected by russia’s war against Ukraine.

For more than a decade, Ruslan has documented the human stories of the war while directly supporting vulnerable families across Ukraine. Today he assists over 200 households in Kyiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions — mostly elderly people, single mothers, and families whose loved ones are in russian captivity. Over the past winter alone, his team delivered 56 truckloads of firewood to families who would otherwise have had no way to heat their homes.
