News Splash! We have 36 teams signed up for the 2026 Rotary Charity Dragon Boat Challenge in Chatham on 24 May.
Teams of up to 20 power the boats across Basin 2 at St Mary's Island with the races decided by microseconds. Watched by crowds at the Food and Drink Festival, there is a teams village and expert organisation of the boats and races.
As a charity event, each team is asked to raise a minimum of £250 of which half can be donated to a charity of their choice. There are corporate packages and advertising opportunities to promote your business or organisation.
All funds raised go to Rotary supported charities and over £100,000 has been raised in the ten years of the Challenge.
Charities supported this year are We Are Beams for young people, Marie Curie cancer care, Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services and Wetwheels South East creating barrier free boating.
