Pale and interesting or dark and delicious: Let sommelier Sinéad Murdoch pour you some knockout, picnic-worthy wines
About this Event

In one corner, you have the pale rosés. The swimming pool wines that take their lead from Provence. In the other, the light reds. The ones that taste brilliant when chilled. The sorts of drops vignerons drink when the mercury rises. Is there really that much difference between these two styles – apart from the colour? Tasca co-founder and sommelier Sinéad Murdoch will put four wines in the ring for you to taste. Can she persuade the pale rosé lovers to move to the dark side? Or the confirmed red drinkers to appreciate the elegance of great quality pale rosé? There’s only one way to find out!

Sinead began her hospitality career at 18, moving into the London restaurant scene in 2019. During the pandemic, she spent time in Southern Spain and Portugal, where she fell into vineyard work and discovered a love for low-intervention, sustainable wines. Moving back to London, she continued formal wine training while managing the front of house at Sarap Bistro, Renegade Winery, and most notably as General Manager of Bistro Freddie. In summer 2024, she became Head Sommelier at Gallifet Art Centre in Aix-en-Provence, curating a hyper-localised wine list and co-leading the food and wine programme.

Sinead is co-director of Suppher collective, an inclusive supper club supporting women’s charities through food and wine. Most recently, she and her partner Chef Josh Dallaway, launched the nomadic restaurant concept Tasca—a love letter to their hospitality careers and travels through Iberian-inspired food, brought to life by British produce and a women-led wine list. The pair have taken over kitchens and restaurants across the globe, including Giacco's and Ploussard in London, Bloco in Lisbon and No Bar in Bangkok.
