About this Event
Colorado Boy is a haunting and intimate theatrical work presented as part of the Roots and Routes Spring Season weekend, bringing a Denver Fringe Festival favorite into the Artists Amongst Us Salon experience. The piece traces Eric’s journey as he learns to navigate life while uncovering the realities of his mental illness, and the ways it shapes his relationships and perception of the world around him.
Set against the familiar yet shifting landscape of Colorado, the work weaves together scenes of everyday life, movement, and moments of stark vulnerability. What begins as a deeply personal narrative unfolds into a broader reflection on identity, belonging, and the courage it takes to confront what lives beneath the surface.
The show was written by Ronan Viard, and was inspired by the life story of his father, Franck Viard, who loved and supported this show, and is deeply missed.
Directed by Adrienne Astira and starring Ronan Viard and Maya Ferrario, Colorado Boy invites audiences into a nuanced and human exploration of mental health. The performance will be followed by a Q&A, creating space for dialogue on how art can build bridges and deepen understanding around the lived realities of mental illness.
