Romantasy Book Pop-up (LONDON)

I am so excited to announce our London romantasy book pop-up event!! This event will be fundraising to open a permanent brick-and-mortar shop in Oxford for Bad Girl Books: the UK's FIRST Romantasy Bookshop! I will also be launching a crowdfunder (with £1 donation options) next week to help support this goal!

Doors open at 10am and will close at 5pm, and the pop-up will be running on both Saturday 13 September and Sunday 14 September.

EACH MORNING, the first 20 people will receive a free tote bag with bookish goodies inside!

For those of you who don't know me - hi! My name is Starlin and I wanted to make a place where romantasy reading is celebrated and spicy reading is encouraged. I've often felt embarassed asking booksellers in shops for recommendations, and have felt judged for the books I love most. But reading should be about having fun, and enjoying books that make you happy (and ocassionally rip your heart out and make you ugly cry). I have personally found the Romantasy genre so empowering and so fun, and I can literally yap about my favourite books all day long. I would love to bring the romantasy community together, have the opportunity to meet like minded people and make new friends, and talk about our favourite characters and favourite series together! And of course shop the cutest merch and support small businesses across the UK at the same time :)

I hope that this pop-up gives you all a small glimpse into what our permanent shop could look like, featuring books from your favourite Romantasy authors, special editions with sprayed edges, and LOTS of bookish merch from small businesses across the UK!

You will see a few different options for time slots to choose from when you're choosing your ticket. This is just a guide to help organise the flow of traffic and try to make it a comfortable experience for everyone. Don't worry, it is not likely to be as popular as the BookFest incident lol But in any case, I think it will be better to plan for the best case scenario in case a lot of you girls come out to the event to support the Bad Girl Books launch or just come for the vibes!

The tickets are divided into 2 hour 'slots'. If you could please try to arrive at some point within your time slot, I think that will be helpful to reduce any potential long queues. This will not be super strict and time slots won't be checked on arrival, this is just to try and help make it a comfortable experience and avoid any potential overcrowding. I really wasn't sure if 20 people would even come, but 60 of you have already booked tickets in less than 24 hours so I wanted to come and add timeslots just in case the unthinkable happens and hundreds of you girlies come down!

This event is on the ground floor of a new co-working building. You can't miss the bright pink entrance! There will be toilets available to use inside, as well as a cafe area (that will be closed) if you need to sit down. There is a step up at the entrance, but otherwise it is fully accessible with wide doors.
