His sound is very distinctive, with a preference for direct expressiveness and beautiful melodic lines mixed with the polyrhythms so characteristic of Brazilian music.
Rogério Bicudo began playing guitar at a very young age, specifically at the age of six. Later, he took lessons with Odair Assad and in 1982 went to Spain to study at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid. He now resides in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he performs as a soloist, with the fabulous Duo Atlântico, and in various other projects with diverse formations. His playing transcends musical genres or styles.
Rogério is also a composer of choro, samba, and other genres of popular music. His music has been recorded by artists such as Ivan Milanez and Zeca Pagodinho, Eduardo Gallotti, Casuarina, and Criolo.
