Chen Yuxin is currently in her third year of undergraduate studies in the Piano Department at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She is studying under Professor Wei Danwen, the director of the Piano Department, a doctoral supervisor, renowned pianist, conductor, educator, and Steinway Artist. In 2015, she was admitted to the Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music, where she studied under Professor Li Huili, Teacher Jiang Xia, and the Head of the Department, Teacher Wang Yang.
Chen Yuxin has received numerous awards and honors, including the Outstanding Professional Achievement Award in the Junior High Department of the Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music for the academic years 2017-2018. She also received a piano scholarship from the school. In addition, she won the second prize in the Open Category at the 2019 Shanghai Piano Competition, the third prize in the Professional Category II at the 2019 Pearl River · Kayserburg International Youth Piano Competition Finals, and the third prize in the Professional Youth Group A at the 18th Xinghai Cup National Piano Competition. She successfully advanced through global selections and was selected for the Finals of the 2020 Ettlingen International Competition For Young Pianists. Chen Yuxin's achievements also include winning the first prize in the Youth Performers Group at the 2023 Pearl River · Kayserburg International Youth Piano Competition Finals. She emerged as the second place winner in the Concerto Competition (Undergraduate and Graduate Groups) at the 17th Central Conservatory of Music "Academy Cup." Furthermore, she secured the third place in the Professional Youth Group at the 8th Germany Irmler (Qingdao) International Piano Competition.
In 2018, she emerged victorious in the inaugural Piano Concerto Competition at the Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music. As a result, she collaborated successfully with the Fujian Symphony Orchestra, performing Beethoven Piano Concerto No.3 at the Wuyuan Concert Hall. In 2021, she participated in the "Tribute to Beethoven" concert at the Fujian Grand Theatre, featuring Beethoven piano sonatas. In 2022, under the guidance of Professor Wei Danwen, she collaborated with the Cross-Strait Youth Joint Symphony Orchestra, performing Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.3. In October of the same year, she participated in the "Piano Dream - Learning Piano with Master Pianists" concert at the Zhongshan Concert Hall in Beijing.In 2023, she took part in the concert commemorating the 211th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Hungarian musician Franz Liszt, organized jointly by the Embassy of Hungary in China, Jintai Art Museum, and World China Magazine. She also participated in the National Music Colleges Outstanding Undergraduate Students Performance, organized by the People's Music Publishing House. Chen Yuxin has traveled to various countries and regions in Europe and America to participate in music festivals and masterclasses, receiving unanimous praise from experts in the field.
About PYPA Piano Festival
The 2024 PYPA Piano Festival is coming back to Philadelphia in the summer of 2024! We have prepared 9 days of in-person events, including concerts, masterclasses, and the Philadelphia International Competition from July 27-August 4, 2024!
PYPA Summer Piano Festival was founded in 2013. For the first five years, the festival took place at the Curtis Institute of Music, and since 2018, it has been in residence at the historic Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.
Each summer, the piano festival offers an intensive nine-day program that encompasses master classes, lectures, and concerts performed by international renowned pianists, as well as PYPA young artists. The Summer Piano Festival also presents the annual Philadelphia International Piano Competition.
