Retrieving on the Ridge 5K (Accessible Walk/Run)

Retrieving on the Ridge 5K is the inaugural fundraising event supporting Retrieving Independence and our mission of training and placing service dogs that increase independence for individuals with disabilities. It is a community-focused 5K designed around accessibility, inclusion, and shared purpose. This year's Retrieving on the Ridge is sponsored by .

Participants can choose between a timed 5K wave or a non-competitive community wave. The event is open to runners, walkers, families, and adaptive participants of all ability levels.

The course is designed to support walking, rolling, and varied pacing, with accessibility and comfort built into the experience.

Expect a relaxed morning at Mill Ridge Park with a clearly marked course and supportive volunteers throughout. You’ll have opportunities to learn more about service dogs in training and connect with the Retrieving Independence community.

The event is intentionally unhurried—stay, explore, and enjoy the space before and after your 5K.
