REST AS RECLAMATION: Sudanese Valentine’s Day Poetry Workshop

REST is Reclamation is the third gathering in REST 2026, a Black History Month series presented by NeuroBloom Mental Health Collective in collaboration with For Real Therapy.

Held on Valentine’s Day, this Sudanese-centered poetry workshop invites participants to reclaim love beyond romance — love as memory, grief, survival, longing, and collective care.

In the context of displacement, loss, and ongoing crisis, reclamation becomes an act of resistance.

Through guided writing prompts, reflection, and optional sharing, this workshop creates space to:

• Reclaim love in the midst of rupture and uncertainty
• Process grief, tenderness, and longing through language
• Honor Sudanese cultural memory and storytelling traditions
• Practice rest through slowness, creativity, and presence

This is not a performance space. Writing experience is not required. Sharing is always optional and consent-based.

This event is free and open to the community.
