Kuchipudi dancer Vedya Spurthi Konda brings ‘Resonance: The Voice of Kuchipudi by Vedya Spurthi Konda’ to the stage alongside her ensemble, drawing on years of classical training and performance experience. A senior disciple of Sri Jai Kishore and Dr.Mosalikanti.
Her performances have spanned seven countries, with appearances at New York’s Erasing Borders Dance Festival, London’s Nehru Centre, Chennai’s Krishna Gana Sabha, and programs hosted by the Consulates General of India in Hong Kong and Scotland. As part of the
Vedya is a 2017 YoungArts Winner, holds a Diploma in Kuchipudi from the University of Silicon Andhra, and received a 2021 Apprenticeship Grant from the Alliance for California Traditional Arts. A recent graduate from the University of Pennsylvania. With this performance, Vedya Spurthi Konda and her ensemble bring their collective skill and stage presence to a Kuchipudi performance that highlights both tradition and new possibilities for the art.
