About this Event
Workshop:
Integral to the concept of Redecision Therapy is what Bob and Mary Goulding categorized as recognizable Injunctions and their effect in shaping unhappy human behavior. Dr. McNeel has substituted the phrase, "Injunctive Messages" in place of the word "Injunction." In this workshop he will explain the theory behind this change. He expanded the number of Injunctive Messages from fifteen to twenty-five and organized them into five categories: Survival, Attachment, Identity, Competence and Security. This workshop will concentrate on the charts that Dr. McNeel has created as a means to accurately diagnose and treat each of the Injunctive Messages. You will leave with new tools for helping people shift their “unhappy human behavior” into healthy and happier options.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Diagnose both despairing decisions and defiant decisions.
- Describe the problems created by each of the major categories of Injunctive Messages.
- Explain the major changes necessary to resolve each category of Injunctive Messages.
- Identify the unique "unexpected truth" that aids the resolution of each Injunctive Message.
- Explain the power of the "Coping Behaviors," and how they are key to the diagnosis of each individual Injunctive Message.
