Learn how to save your old or damaged clothes and textiles from going to waste.
About this Event

Eleanor and Sarah, from Fast Fashion Therapy, are on hand to help you mend or alter your old or damaged clothes.

Please bring along a couple of items of clothing to work on and we can offer advice on how to repair or alter them. If you would like to practice some sewing techniques on spare fabrics first before working on your own clothes, we have plenty of small pieces available for you to use.

We have 4 sewing machines to use, an iron, sewing kit and basic materials. Please bring along a sewing kit if you have one, we can't provide all materials so if there are any extra trims or fabrics you specifically want to use please bring these along too. We are a friendly and inclusive group, we invite everyone to share any ideas they may have with others on how we can mend and refashion clothes to combat textile waste.

The workshop runs on Saturdays (times vary, check individual event details) at The Create Place, 29 Old Ford Road, London, E2 9PJ. The nearest tube station is Bethnal Green.

The workshop on Saturday 24th January is funded by St. Margaret's House and Arts Council England.

We are so pleased that we have been given a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to fund these workshops from February until November 2027 meaning we can keep these workshops free to attend!

If you are able to give a donation with your ticket, suggested donation is £3. Your donation helps us to cover costs not covered by the grant and continue running these workshops for free so we can support everyone to mend their clothes, regardless of their financial income.
