At this King County free community repair event at the Renton Library, our skilled volunteer "fixers" will try to repair and mend household items and clothing!First-come, first-served (for people's first items only), as fixers are available. If people bring second items, we'll try to get to those after we've worked on everyone's first items.
If you have questions about the item you plan to bring, or any other questions, contact event coordinator Tom at [email protected] or at 206-477-4481, or by commenting on this Facebook event page. First, read below, or visit www.KingCounty.gov/repair-events for more info on this County-wide repair events program. (Also, you can visit www.KingCounty.gov/repair-businesses to find King County businesses offering paid repair, in 20 different categories.)
At these repair events, we work on many types of small household and personal items, including: small appliances and electronics, lamps, vacuums, toys, electric power tools, small furniture such as chairs and drawers, jewelry, clothing and other textiles.
We may decline to work on any item – in advance or at the event – depending on the item, the type of repair needed, the fixers available, or for other reasons.
No equipment that uses gasoline. No cell phones, tablet computers or microwaves. No knife or tool sharpening. No lengthy reconstructive repairs. No major clothing alterations. Items brought in - including clothing, fans and vacuums - must be reasonably clean.
Hope to see you there, and hope we can help with your repairs and mending!
