About this Event
This is a full, end-to-end workshop module for counsellors, trainees, community practitioners or multidisciplinary teams. It is designed to feel alive, relational, trauma-informed, culturally attuned and expressive arts friendly, and centers the Stay Alive App as a collaborative tool rather than a risk-management instrument.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- Understand safety planning as a relational, collaborative and dynamic process
- Explore how to use the Stay Alive App in ways that honour autonomy, dignity and cultural context
- Practice expressive arts and narrative techniques to deepen safety planning conversations
- Learn how to integrate the Stay Alive App into ongoing therapeutic work without it becoming a tickbox exercise
- Build confidence in supporting clients who may be at risk of suicide while maintaining boundaries and practitioner wellbeing
About the Trainer
The training will be delivered by Yinka Yesufu, an experienced practitioner specialising in Suicide: Prevention, Intervention and Postvention. Besides his own counselling practice, he delivers training nationally and internationally.
