About this Event
Join us on Saturday, April 18th for our first round of MFA workshops! We are featuring three artists from the graduating MFA class currently exhibiting in MoFA. See you all there!
Ysabel Flores creates experimental paintings and hand-built ceramics that reflect on her “long-distance” relationship to the Philippines as a Filipino American. Cut, torn, and burned paintings of Florida’s subtropical climate, combined with sculptures of Filipino foods, illustrate the fluidity and puzzle-like nature of shaping identity.
This Saturday, April 18, Flores will be leading “Reimagined Viewfinders,” two 1-hour workshops where viewers will be given mat boards to make their own viewfinders. Create a collage, illustrate, and paint anything that shapes your cultural worldview. Materials will be provided!
