About this Event
Join us on Saturday, April 18th for our first round of MFA workshops! We are featuring three artists from the graduating MFA class currently exhibiting in MoFA. See you all there!
Kea Kamiya creates mixed media sculptures out of steel and comforting textiles, which reflect on the care labor of immigrant women. Kamiya depicts their ancestors as leaping koi fish, collaging their portraits into the scales of the fish. Through selective inclusion, Kamiya questions whose memory endures and why. Kamiya will be leading “Mini Wire Maquettes.”
This Saturday, April 18, Kea Kamiya will be hosting “Mini Wire Maquettes.” In this 1 ½-hour workshop, Kamiya will give an artist talk and teach guests how to make their own wire maquettes. See you all there!
