About this Event
Red Dress Day honours Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people (MMIWG2S+). Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the historical and ongoing impacts of colonial violence that contribute to this national crisis. The session will explore the symbolism of the red dress, key statistics, and insights from the National Inquiry’s Calls to Justice. It will also create space for reflection on collective and institutional responsibility within the SFU community. Respecting families, survivors, and Indigenous voices, the presentation aims to deepen awareness while encouraging meaningful action.
