Bound by deep friendship and a shared passion for Greek urban popular music, Alexis Koutsourelis (bouzouki), Giannis Christakopoulos (accordion), and Pericles Makris (guitar) unite for their first Northern European tour.With collaborations spanning from the Athens Concert Hall to the Dutch National Opera and the Intercultural Orchestra of the Greek National Opera, as well as acclaimed tours across Europe, Asia and beyond, they've earned the respect of masters and peers alike— and were praised for their virtuosity, authenticity, and emotional depth.
The trio blends the freedom of Jazz improvisation, the ornamented melodies of the East, and the earthy Mediterranean groove, all while remaining true to the soul of tradition.
Join them on a musical journey through post war Rebetiko and early popular song( 'laiko'), bringing the finest of Athens' taverns and Rebetiko haunts to the stage: songs full of wisdom, humour, love, struggle, and the timeless stories of the Greek psyche.
