About this Event
With increasing numbers of young people being diagnosed with additional support needs, and cumulative pressures on resources across communities, education and the NHS, professionals can feel at a loss on how best to care for young people in need. This session supports professionals to make small yet effective adjustments that create a BIG impact in a variety of settings.
- Explore the concept of reasonable adjustments in various settings, particularly concerning children and young people with Additional Support Needs
- Using in-depth case studies to identify the sensory and communication needs of an individual and the impact an adjustment can make on them and the people around them
- Identify adaptations that are both impactful and cost-effective
- Understand your limits and when to call on additional expert support
- Signposting to key support organisations and relevant resources for support
By the end of the webinar, attendees should be able to apply knowledge of reasonable and realistic adjustments to their practice to create a more inclusive environment.
This session is aimed at practitioners who have a base knowledge of neurodivergence (informed level ASD), intellectual disabilities, and the impact of care experience and/or trauma. This session does not advise on supporting those with a vision or hearing impairment, nor does it focus on mobility equipment for physical disabilities.
