About this Event
Real-World Skills & Readiness Lab™: Clinical Foundations for PSW Advancement
This is not a review of what you already do. This is a hands-on, simulation-based clinical workshop designed specifically for PSWs who are ready to go beyond the basics — to understand the clinical reasoning behind the care they already give every day.
Whether you’re deepening your practice, preparing for further education, or simply committed to showing up better for the people in your care — this lab was built for you.
📍 What You’ll Practice
• Ostomy Care: pouching and appliance changes, output assessment, peristomal skin care
• Catheter Care: safe handling, infection prevention, urine output assessment and escalation
• Skin Assessment & Breakdown Prevention: pressure injury staging, high-risk areas, documentation and escalation triggers
• Vitals Interpretation + Deterioration Recognition + Escalation: reading vitals in context, early warning signs, when and how to report a change of condition
🧠 How It Works
Ostomy and catheter skills are delivered as rotating simulation stations. Skin assessment and vitals interpretation are facilitated as group discussion with real clinical scenarios and think-pair-share activities. Every skill is paired with the clinical reasoning behind it.
📌 A Note on Documentation
While this session is not an accredited program, a Certificate of Completion is provided to all attendees upon finishing the workshop.
⚡ Spots are limited. Small-group format for optimal simulation learning.
