About this Event
This engaging workshop begins with a talk by Sarah R. Bloom who will share insights into their motivations and methods for creating self-portraits. As they speak, participants can begin working on collages inspired by the discussion.
The creative process starts with a selfie or an instant camera self-portrait, which participants will use as the foundation for their artwork. A variety of art supplies, including magazines, colored paper, scissors, colored pencils, and markers, will be provided to enhance and transform these images. March 8th is International Women’s Day and resources will be provided from their website (https://www.internationalwomensday.com/Resources)
Throughout the workshop, participants will be encouraged to reflect on and redefine the narratives surrounding their self-images. They’ll explore questions about personal identity, societal perceptions, and how they choose to represent themselves through art.
