Transdisciplinary Dance Performance
In Rasa, the artist navigates through subtle and dreamlike forms and content that manifest through the power of physicality and the delicacy of image composition, creating a dramaturgy that draws directly from her origin, personal history, past, and spiritual practice.
The structure of Rasa unfolds through a series of choreo-psychomagic moments, which explore the transformations and alchemies of the feminine and human essence. Each segment represents a process of reclaiming the right to create, to be free, to imagine, and to express the artistic vision as it was conceived. Rasa invites both the performer and the audience to embark
on a profound journey into the irrational, the dreamlike, alchemy, and transformation.
Biography: Dr. Vivian Medina is an Auckland-based Colombian artistic director, choreographer, researcher, and educator. She holds a PhD in Dance Studies, focusing on Spiritualities, Yogic Science and Transdisciplinarity, from The University of Auckland.
Additionally, she has earned a Master’s degree in Arts from the University of Campinas in Brazil and a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from El Bosque University in Colombia. Since 2004, Vivian has been a leading figure in performing arts, tertiary and transdisciplinary artistic education, specializing in dance, theatre, physical theatre, dance dramaturgy, improvisation, and arts project supervision.
