Í tilefni þess að Ramadan-mánuðurinn er genginn í garð er boðið til opins iftar í Háskóla Íslands.
Ramadan er heilagur mánuður hjá múslimum þar sem fastað er frá sólarupprás til sólseturs. Fastan snýst ekki aðeins um mat og drykk, heldur einnig um samkennd, þakklæti og að styrkja tengsl milli fólks.
Iftar er kvöldmáltíðin sem markar lok daglegrar föstu og er jafnframt samverustund þar sem fólk kemur saman, borðar og nýtur samfélagsins.
Markmið viðburðarins er að gefa fólki tækifæri til að kynnast Ramadan, hitta aðra og njóta máltíðar saman í notalegu umhverfi.
Viðburðurinn er opinn öllum nemendum og starfsfólki Háskóla Íslands.
Til að auðvelda skipulagningu eru gestir vinsamlegast beðnir um að skrá sig í eyðublaðinu hér að neðan.

Hello everyone,
To mark the arrival of the month of Ramadan, you are invited to an open iftar at the University of Iceland.
Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims during which fasting takes place from sunrise to sunset. Fasting is not only about food and drink, but also about compassion, gratitude, and strengthening connections between people.
Iftar is the evening meal that marks the end of the daily fast and is also a social gathering where people come together, eat, and enjoy each other’s company.
The aim of this event is to give people the opportunity to learn about Ramadan, meet others, and share a meal together in a pleasant environment.
The event is open to all students and staff of the University of Iceland.
To help with the organization, guests are kindly asked to register using the form below.
The program will proceed as follows:
17:30 Doors open
18:00 Program begins
19:00 Dinner
19:30 Dessert, coffee, games
20:00 Program ends
