Listening to the Landscape: A Guided Somatic Walk in Nature

This guided walk will be a space to to find grounding, connection, and guidance through engaging with our natural surroundings.

If you're interested in somatic practices, or curious about how the natural world can support co-regulation, grounding, and a deeper relationship with yourself and the landscapes we inhabit, this walk may be for you.

We'll begin by turning inward with gentle body awareness activities, noticing sensations, breath, feeling tones, and thoughts. From there, we'll slowly expand our attention outward, exploring the interaction between our bodies and the landscape around us.

Through walking, moments of quiet reflection, and gentle somatic practices, we'll explore the dialogue between our inner world and the outer world, and the sources of support, connection, and guidance available to us.

All activities are suggestions, and you're welcome to participate in whatever ways feel safe and nourishing for you.

Omikemi is a facilitator, writer and spiritual care practitioner with a background in mindfulness, somatics and creative practices. Their work weaves words, somatics and contemplative practices to create spaces for deep listening and connection. They have over a decade of experience supporting individuals and groups to explore resilience, creativity and wellbeing in accessible, inclusive ways.

Key information:

📍 We will meet under the Green Bridge near Mile End Station at 1pm, outside the Costa Coffee. Frankie, Nebula and Omikemi will be there to meet you!

🕰️ We plan to be together from 1pm-2:30pm.

👋 We will finish the walk at the same place we started – the Green Bridge, close to Mile End station.

🌱 During the walk, Omikemi will guide you through some somatic practices. Everything shared will be invitational, so you can choose if and how you wish to participate.

👣 Our route will be easy, non-strenuous, and wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if there might be any support you need or if you have any advice from your GP about not participating in gentle walking/movement.

💧 Please remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring anything you might need for the walk, such as a bottle of water!
