Step into the enchanting world of Indian Classical Music, where every note is a doorway to a realm of timeless beauty and profound emotion.
About this Event

Join us as Roopak and Pallavi take you on an immersive musical odyssey with live performances and interactive conversations, introducing you to the ancient art form of Indian Classical Music.
This art form is based on a system of ragas. A raga is a melodic framework constructed using combinations of “swaras”, or musical notes, carefully arranged to evoke specific emotions and moods. Each raga was woven intricately, deriving inspiration from nature and the depths of human emotion. The vibrations and frequencies produced by these ragas have a healing effect on the mind and body, leaving you feeling uplifted yet grounded.
Whether you are a music enthusiast, a cultural explorer, or simply curious to delve into the world of Indian Classical Music, come along as we celebrate its timeless beauty and leave with a newfound appreciation for this exquisite art form.
Roopak Phatak:
Roopak is an up and coming vocalist in Indian classical music. His love for the art sparked as he attended his first Indian Classical Music concert. He was captivated by the synergy between the singer and the accompanists witnessing the creation of music greater than the sum of their parts. Inspired by the power and beauty of their music, Roopak began training under the esteemed Smt. Shubhangi Sakhalkar at the age of 6 and has continued learning for the past 17 years. He has performed in various classical music events in the Bay Area, including the Ustad Amir Khan Music Festival. At Raga Music, he hopes to share his love for Indian Classical Music and show some of the serenity and joy this ancient art form brings.
Pallavi Moghe:
Pallavi's musical journey began when she experienced a deep longing for an artistic medium of expression and healing as she was navigating a challenging phase in life. While Pallavi was initially drawn to studying Sitar, she has since transitioned to focusing solely on Indian classical vocal music. She has been training under the guidance of Smt. Shubhangi Sakhalkar, a renowned musician from the Bay Area for the last 7 years. Pallavi's passion lies in exploring the intricacies of melody, rhythm and expression and sharing the healing power of this music with the world around her.
