An immersive weekend with URCapoeira team, Mestre Fantasma, and Contra Mestre Jamaicano + teamJoin us for a special weekend dedicated to reconnecting with the deepest roots of Capoeira and sharing knowledge across all styles, as it was in the golden era.
This event is uniquely significant as we welcome home our first Contra Mestre, Jamaicano. He came to our roda during a period of fundamental change for URCapoeira, helping to solidify our path toward Angola. His dedication was total: he immersed himself in research, disciplined practice, and took the berimbau as a serious extension of his personality. He was more than a student—he became my right hand, attracting many of the dedicated practitioners we have today and helping to solidify the authenticity of our work.
We are incredibly excited for the energy he brings back to London for this focused, two-day event featuring two intensive 3-hour sessions each day. All styles are welcome!
What You Will Experience:
Preventative Training: Specific warmups focused on balancing movement agility and counter-dominant side issues to avoid injury.
Mental Preparation: Challenges designed to help you enter the roda relaxed and fully prepared.
Technique: Basic and advanced Angola movements and sequences.
Collaboration: Focused pair work, song, music, and the roda.
