Join this engaging four-week patchwork and quilting course, a wonderful activity designed to help you learn the fundamental techniques of this traditional craft. Guided by your experienced textiles tutor, Liane, you'll explore a different patchwork method each week in these workshop-style sessions. This course is perfect for anyone looking to start their journey and learn how to create beautiful textile art.
Over the four weeks, you will discover various approaches to patchwork and quilting. You'll learn how to master different methods, including:
Basic patchwork to build your foundational skills.
The meticulous and rewarding art of English paper piecing.
The creative freedom offered by crazy patchwork.
This rewarding course takes place over four consecutive Mondays, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, giving you a dedicated morning of creative learning and activity each week.
The total cost for this comprehensive 10-hour course is £95. This includes:
Expert tuition from Liane throughout each workshop.
Use of sewing machines and all necessary quilting equipment.
A small quantity of materials provided each week for that session's project square.
Light refreshments to enjoy during the sessions. (Please note: if you have any special dietary requirements, you are kindly asked to bring your own provisions).
By the end of this course, you’ll have not only created a set of charming patchwork squares but also gained a foundational understanding and a heartening confidence in patchwork and quilting techniques to inspire many future projects.
Accessibility note: this workshop is held in an upstairs room which unfortunately does not have lift access.
This is aimed at complete beginners, with no prior sewing knowledge.
Feel free to bring along your own fabrics or use from our patchwork stash coloured boxes. Don't forget to bring along your spectacles if you need them.
