Trinity United Methodist Church is honored to welcome nationally recognized author, activist, and public theologian Brandan Robertson on June 9, 2026 from 6:30pm-8:30pm, as part of his Queer & Christian book tour. Known for his work at the intersection of faith, justice, and LGBTQ+ inclusion, Rev. Robertson brings a thoughtful and approachable voice for those seeking deeper conversations about spirituality, identity, and belonging.
The evening will include a public lecture, audience Q&A, and book signing, with books available for purchase. Queer community resources will be available, along with an opportunity to spread love to our trans siblings through the Point in Pride project. We look forward to offering a warm and welcoming space for our community to engage Rev. Robertson’s work and explore themes of faith, justice, and inclusion together.
By hosting Rev. Robertson, Trinity United Methodist Church continues its commitment to faithful conversation, radical hospitality, and welcoming diverse voices into dialogue with the wider community.
While books will be available onsite, you can also pick up a copy locally at Books & Mortar (966 Cherry Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506).
Trinity UMC’s Sacred Justice Book Club will be discussing Brandan’s book on May 5, 2026, at 7:00pm. If you’d like to join the conversation before Brandan arrives in June, we would be delighted to have you!
A huge thank you to our sponsor, Gays In Faith Together (GIFT). Access their resource at https://www.giftgr.org/.
