Join our Community Care Specialist & Death Doula Tracey Walker for an informative and inspiring conversation about environmentally conscious end-of-life choices. This presentation will explore how you can honor your final wishes while also caring for the earth, with a focus on simple, natural practices that return the body to the land in a meaningful way.Held in recognition of National Green Burial Week, this presentation is part of a growing movement to bring awareness to sustainable deathcare and the many options available to individuals and families today.
We’ll walk through what truly makes a burial “green,” including the use of biodegradable caskets or shrouds, natural fibers, the avoidance of embalming, and choosing burial spaces that support ecological preservation. Just as importantly, we’ll talk about what’s possible right here in our own community.
West Michigan is uniquely positioned to support green burial practices. We are fortunate to have a dedicated Green Burial Cemetery in our region, and Plainfield Township has recently established new regulations allowing for green burials within their township cemeteries. As these options continue to expand, we feel it is our responsibility as a small, community-focused funeral home to help educate and guide families in understanding what is available to them.
Whether you are planning ahead or simply curious, this workshop offers a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and explore how your values can be reflected in your final arrangements
