Join us at the farm to dye an egg to take home using traditional Ukrainian techniques with melted beeswax and dyes.
About this Event

Together, we’ll carefully melt wax into designs on eggs and dip them into colorful dyes to reveal a beautiful and festive design! Barb Reisenauer will reveal the rich history of this craft and walk you through the steps to design your own egg, giving patterns or the ability to design your own.

This program is designed for adults and requires moderate hand dexterity to practice. Keenly interested children over the age of 12 may attend with an adult and must have their own paid ticket.

Dress in clothing you’re comfortable potentially staining and be prepared to get some colorful dye on your hands that may take a couple of days to fade completely.

About our Educator

Barb Reisenauer learned the art of pysanka egg decorating over 20 years ago from an incredible instructor from Ukraine, she has been hooked ever since! She sees potential for beautiful egg designs everywhere she goes, including gas stations (ask to see her BP egg design), and has given workshops on the artform at churches, home, and for volunteer groups! When she’s not crafting egg designs, you can find her at our front desk, growing orchids, playing violin, or taking care of her grandchildren.
