About this Event
Come along to our flagship gathering. A space where climate-concerned people in advertising, media, marketing, comms and beyond can come together to find community.
These sessions were the catalyst which formed Purpose Disruptors and they’ve created ripples of change across the industry through connections and conversations.
This month....it's Earth Day.
So, we thought we would start the day in Nature. A morning walk starting near Westminster and walking through St James Park, around the water and through Green Park, where we will conclude our time together in time for you to hop on the tube station to your workplace at 9am.
We'll have a quick check in and then you'll be walking in pairs and trios, with prompts that encourage you to think about what you are growing this Spring. What are you cultivating in your soils that you want to harvest later this year.
As always, it will be an open, honest conversation to help us sense-make the time we live in and the work we do.
Starting at the entrance nearest the Storey's cafe / opposite 3 Birdcage Walk / what3words ref ///gaps.dated.relay at 0745 on Wednesday morning...dress for the weather and bring a mug of your favourite morning tipple. We will share further details to registered Disruptors so you can find us in the park on the day.
We look forward to seeing you there,
Lisa, Rob and Jonathan
Co-founders, Purpose Disruptors
Who are we?
Purpose Disruptors are an organisation founded by ex-industry leaders, on a mission to catalyse the advertising industry's climate transition. We support a growing network of industry insiders to meaningfully tackle climate change through our projects and community events.
Our projects centre around up-skilling the industry on climate, measuring the true impact of advertising’s contribution to emissions, and harnessing the industry’s superpower - creativity and imagination to bring about alternative visions of the future.
We believe that change begins at a personal level, our projects are designed to help people connect to the climate crisis, and create systemic change from within.
Like many good things, Purpose Disruptors started in a pub. In 2019, Lisa Merrick Lawless, Rob McFaul and Jonathan Wise met to discuss the question:
The better I am at my job the worse I'm making the climate crisis, what do I do about that?
Purpose Disruptors was formed to address the tension which arose from this question. We've grown from three people in a pub to a network of 5,000 people striving for stronger climate action in advertising.
We premiered work at COP26 and COP27. We’ve won an award for our community creative campaign ‘Create The Great Reset’ in 2021. All 3 co-founders have been recognised by Forbes as 43 people changing advertising for the climate and have been recognised as Campaign Magazine’s Trailblazers in 2021.
