Join us for the first Puppet Summit! Designed to question preconceptions about what a "puppet" even is...this weekend is a series of events beginning with:
* Friday Welcome Dinner and Puppet Slam at the Ocean Room,
* Saturday and Sunday daytime hands-on workshops to build your own puppet at any scale!
* Saturday evening we present a few short slideshow talks, MC'ed by Charlotte Lily Gaspard, and a longer-format show from several of our featured puppeteers.
* Sunday we wrap up with a Giant Puppet Stroll that is free for all to join.
All events take place in San Francisco - Friday's at the Ocean Room in Excelsior, and Sat/Sun at a magical secret venue in the Mission District.

Curated by Charlotte Lily Gaspard of Midnight Radio Show (NYC) and Caryl Kientz of Shadowlight Productions (SF), with featured performer Pandora Gastelum of the Mudlark Theatre (New Orleans), founder of the Giant Puppet Festival.
Somewhere between a conference, a party and a festival, we cross-pollinate puppet theater creators from across the region and beyond to showcase the range of expression and techniques puppeteers are working in today.
While other puppet-focused events focus on traditional puppet storytelling for kids, this event showcases the underground! Avant garde, giant puppet, marionette, shadow, and other styles, for an ever-widening audience.
