Pulling Threads

- The Call of Beauty and Art of Transfiguration

‘And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory…’ - 2 Corinthians 3:18

An event that Thomas Aquinas deemed the ‘greatest miracle’, the Biblical narrative of the Jesus’ transfiguration is often left unexplored. This quiet day explores a literal and metaphorical ascent up a mountain, a journey of spiritual formation through aesthetic experience - and transformation thereafter. Using exercises found in creative practice and rooted in Christian theology of the desert fathers – this is a time to reflect upon journeys of change and transition, unlearning and ultimately expanding perception towards a truer light.

Jennifer is a multidisciplinary artist and educator integrating textiles, fashion and poetry. Formerly running the Artist in Residence programme at the V&A Museum she is now competing her PhD in thelogy and the arts at Glasgow University.
